Sunday, of course, was Easter. We had a nice morning with Andy's family (see previous posts for pictures). The kids received so much candy... I don't know what I will do with it all! Save it and gradually give it out, I guess.
Our week started out mellow and relaxed. We stayed home on Monday and Tuesday so we could all have a break. Plus the weather was a little on the rainy side. On Wednesday the kids were able to go to "Open Gym" at Healthsport and had a great time! They were able to burn off some of the extra energy they had saved up from being inside for three days. And I got a much needed break!!
On Thursday evening, the kids went to Pam and Charlie's (Andy's mom and stepdad's) house for the night. Andy and I had a nice quiet dinner at home on Thursday. I went to Eureka on Friday morning do some errands and shopping. It was nice to have some time to myself. Thanks to Pam and Charlie!!
The kids got to go to another set of grandparents' house for the night. Thanks Mom and Dad!! Andy and I went out to dinner with some friends and enjoyed some kid-free conversation. I picked up the kids on Saturday and then we headed to the skating rink for a friend's birthday party.
Happy 6th Birthday Isaac! JT didn't want to skate, but Abigail did really well. She only fell down a couple times and is getting more confident! JT was just as happy running around the skating rink, hitting the pinata, and having cake of course! He was just happy to be there.
Last night (Sunday night), we did something a little different. Andy's dad, Chet, took JT for overnight and we had a "special" evening with Abigail. We let her pick where we went for dinner and she got all the attention for the evening. We went to Round Table Pizza. She got to order her own personal pizza. We gave her some quarters to play video games, ride the dinosaur, and get a sticker from the vending machine. She was pretty excited to have us all to herself. Thanks to Chet for having JT. I am sure they had a great time too!
It was a great week! The four of us Albins are very lucky to have our parents and grandparents live nearby. We are even luckier that they want to spend time with their grandkids! It gives a much needed break, and besides the grandparents are more fun anyway!
