We had a relaxing morning. Around noon we got on the MTR and met Ernest at the stop closest to his place.
After we left his place, we rode the MTR and found a street market on Fa Yen Street. Wow. There was a lot of people. This picture doesn't even do it justice!
We didn't buy anything but it was a great people-watching experience. Then it was back to the hotel for a drink, a nap and dinner.
Day 5 ~ Monday
After breakfast we decided that we really needed to buy some walking shoes. I wish I would've had a pedometer with me to keep track of how much we walked because it was a lot! We headed out to find the Jade Market which was supposed to be really cool. We took the MTR and then had to walk quite a few blocks, but we found it. It was just opening when we got there. We looked around and bought a few gifts.
Andy took this picture just for J.T.
We met Ernest for lunch and played tourist for the afternoon. We took the Star Ferry to Hong Kong Island, an open top double-decker bus, and a tram to get to Victoria Peak. It was a great view, although it was pretty smoggy that day. We looked around and got some snacks at Bubba Gump's so we could admire the view.
Our last event for the evening was the "Symphony of Lights" show in Victoria Harbor. It's a light and laser show with music that they do every night. Pretty cool thing!
Day 6 ~ Tuesday
We did a little shopping in the morning and then Ernest met us in our hotel room so we could Skype with the kids. It was about 1 pm in Hong Kong and 9 pm in Humboldt. It was nice to see the kids and they were excited to see Ernest (and us too I think). Then we went to pick up our China Visas and walked around Kowloon for awhile. We had sushi for dinner, which was really good. Although we were a little nervous when we were the only people in the restaurant. Not usually a good sign..
We got a drink at the bar and sat outside. It was a nice evening. It took us about 100 attempts to try to take a picture of ourselves.... we finally got one, but it could be better.
